45th Hiking Day

On the way from Castrojeriz to Frómista. And again the Lord has heard my prayers. 39 km yesterday and no injuries. Legs and feet feel good and ready for new mischiefs. I slept well and this morning at breakfast I had the opportunity to quietly read my French book and to pray for the hostel owners. Terribly nice people. And I want to take one more advice from my landlord with me today: "Tranquillo!" Today I'll take it slow. Plus Lina: go to new places now.

Run, little Hungarian girl. As fast as you can. Or as slowly as you want.

Have faith in the great Lord. Be patient and understanding. Take your time for the moment and listen to yourself with sharp ears. That's all. It doesn't take more to be happy. Relax, enjoy the time that you spend here. No work will ever be in vain. You are given a lot. Just have faith in yourself, in people and in God.

However one part of me wants to go back to the group. I feel myself hesitating. I sometimes stop and look back the trail. Tranquillo. And trust in God.

I was just having coffee and cake in this café where I last said goodbye to Lina because she annoyed me so much. Oh yes, wonderful memories. Then I saw a few familiar faces from Burgos and the spirits lifted again. I was also chatting with two Australian sisters and two Swedes. Socializing is also a part of wellbeing after all. I think I'll stop today in Frómista, I'll have a few cervezas and then let's just see who will catch up with me.

Sitting here in a restaurant in Frómista and I just hope Ann-Catherine is fine. She looks happy in her photo.

Just had an excellent dinner with some kind of church group from Germany. There was also fried salmon and the best spaghetti bolognese you could wish for. Every now and then I checked the cell phone to see if Ann-Catherine had sent me a message, but negative. In any case, it was a very pleasant evening with the three women. One of them was even a pastor. They had some funny stories to tell. Likewise, hear, hear, it was me who invited them to the table.
