St. James Way - A travelogue

I walked along the Camino de Santiago for 1630 kilometres. More than many and less than some. That was 2019. Starting in Le Puy-en-Velay, roughly speaking I crossed half of France and all of Spain in one hiking trip, right as far as the Atlantic.

These extensive entries were not planned at all. Surely, most of us write down a few things along the way. Impressions, acquaintances, the world of emotions. I was not any different. But, starting with a few snippets of thought, the travelogue eventually became more and more extensive and at a certain point, I had developed the ambition to record all impressions as precisely as possible. The length of it is a pretty essay, not a novel or short story. No frills, just everything that seemed important to me, both inside and out.

I think it's one of my most successful pieces of work. For this reason, now after one and a half years, it may venture out into the world. I tried to abbreviate it as little as possible. One or two pomposities simply cannot be avoided. My only excuse is that they are only snapshots. They'll pass.
