26th Hiking Day

On the way from Aire-sur-l'Adour to Pimbo. Refreshed after three large coffees and a wonderfully soft bed, I move forward with a good pace (at least after the first half hour). Today I am in a good mood and in harmony with hiking life again. The gîte / chapel yesterday was also a dream. Dinner and today breakfast in the candlelight of the candelabra. Hogwarts feeling. There were also the two Strasbourgers who suddenly revealed their perfect German. My jaw dropped that instant. As if I had folks from Swabia in front of me. Also there was a Scot who once studied German and lived in Hamburg for a few months. All of a sudden, German was the official language at the table, and note that I was the only German at the table. The first and probably last time on this route. I'm enjoying my time again. An absolute peak phase.

I just got the news that Julie had to break off the journey due to an injury and has now met the Canadians in Paris. Funny life. I don't want to deduce anything from that either. It was definitely a pleasure and downright fun to meet Julie. I have the feeling that she tried to reach out for me personally. That made something with me. The wandering midwife, independent yet sociable. As for me, I liked her from the start. And of course she was not too bad to look at. But there is also a sense of pride that I'm still here after such a long time. The captain always wants to be the last to disembark. At least a good captain.
