12th Hiking Day

On the way from Espagnac to Sauliac-sur-Célé. Things are slowly starting to be fun. I sleep quite well and hike the mountains more easily. This morning on a narrow mountain path, beautiful view of Espagnac. Lord of the Rings feeling. Like Aragorn the tracker. Drank beer yesterday with the Canadians and Domenique. Pascal and Julie have safely reached Cajarc. Anyone who goes such a long way surely has an interesting background story that goes beyond the usual questions. Does Pascal have a family and children? Does Julie have a boyfriend anywhere? I feel myself tense up when I ask about Julie. But that's always a thing with these women. With them, I feel excited and slightly uncomfortable. But without them it is kind of boring. Maybe that's supposed to be. I still remember, that this phase of getting to know Meara was a tough road. Perhaps the absence of Julie is also the reason why I cannot think of anything clever to write about now.

I believe those were great masters who created and connected these paths. You can see their traces left and right and under our feet.

On the other hand: If it should end now and nothing more would come, then it was already a great vacation at least: Julie, Vincent, Israel, Pascal, the great food and of course the special church service in Conques. That's something. Definitely better than in March. And don't forget: two scoops of ice cream, a large Grimbergen and a small French beer on the sheltered square in Figeauc. We were very happy there and then. I definitely was.

Now sitting with Vincent, Israel and Phillip with a second beer in Sauliac-sur-Célé. Tough march today. Dry instant noodles for lunch and a third of an orange. The beer really hits you then. Feet and legs feel thick. Let's see how it will be tomorrow. Kind of military style today.
